ข้อมูลเบื้องต้น
การประชุมสมัชชาอนามัยโลก เป็นการประชุมประเทศสมาชิกขององค์การอนามัยโลก จัดขึ้นเป็นประจําทุกปีในช่วงเดือนพฤษภาคม ณ สํานักงานองค์การสหประชาชาติ (Palais des Nations) นครเจนีวา สมาพันธรัฐสวิส ถือเป็นเวทีสูงสุดในระดับนโยบายของงานด้านสาธารณสุขในระดับโลก เพื่อกําหนดนโยบายและอนุมัติงบประมาณในรอบสองปี (Biennium) ขององค์กร โดยมีผู้แทนจากรัฐบาลของประเทศสมาชิกรวม 194 ประเทศ เข้าร่วมการประชุม ซึ่งโดยทั่วไปแล้ว รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงสาธารณสุขของประเทศนั้นๆ จะเป็นหัวหน้าคณะผู้แทนเข้าร่วมการประชุม ทั้งนี้ ระเบียบวาระการประชุม รวมทั้งระยะเวลาการประชุมจะกําหนดโดยคณะกรรมการบริหารองค์การอนามัยโลก

วัตถุประสงค์
การเข้าร่วมการประชุมสมัชชาอนามัยโลกของผู้แทนสำนักงานคณะกรรมการอาหารและยามีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อแสดงท่าทีและแนวทางการดำเนินงาน ตามวาระที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสำนักงานฯ และ/หรือวาระที่ได้รับมอบหมายจากกระทรวงสาธารณสุข โดยพิจารณาให้ข้อคิดเห็นทางด้านวิชาการที่สอดคล้องตามนโยบายของรัฐ นโยบายของกระทรวงสาธารณสุข และนโยบายการดำเนินงานของสำนักงานคณะกรรมการอาหารและยา และ/หรือติดตามความคืบหน้าประชุมในประเด็นที่เกี่ยวข้อง
